• Speech difficulty: Speech may be slurred, or the person may have trouble speaking or understanding speech.
• Time to call emergency services: If someone shows any of these symptoms, even if the symptoms disappear, call for medical help immediately.

Other symptoms may include confusion, trouble seeing in one or both eyes, trouble walking, dizziness, loss of balance or coordination, and a severe headache with no known cause.

Causes of Strokes

Strokes can be caused by blocked arteries (ischemic stroke) or leaking or bursting of blood vessels (hemorrhagic stroke).
